Elissa Rosenthal | Book & Lyrics

Elissa's love for Musical Theatre started at age seven and developed while she attended Stage Door Manor Performing Arts Camp. At age 17, Elissa moved to Los Angeles to pursue Comedy and Music. Elissa also studied and performed with the Groundlings, Second City,UCB, and IO West. She created Musical Comedy videos that have over 500k views on YouTube. Beyond sketch and Improv, Elissa was also a Stand-Up comedian, performing at various venues across Los Angeles and New York. Throughout her career, Elissa struggled with her own addiction issues. At age 26, she decided to take a break and get sober. While in recovery, she went to school to become a licensed substance abuse counselor and started working at an incredible trauma-informed treatment center in Los Angeles. She created Improv for Recovery and saw how helpful it was for addicts to gain confidence and find joy. It was there that she decided to pair her creative passions with her natural ability to serve others and started to write  “Breaking Silence," which won first place in a Broadway accelerator program, Apples and Oranges.
